There are several reasons a person doesn't change. Here are a few:
Fear...of what we don't know: Changing requires a connection to a vision of who we want to be. If we're "living out our trauma", then we are consistently being guided by past experiences. Understanding our inner voice enhances self-awareness and personal growth.
Fear...of failure: Believing you can’t change or you’re not worthy of anything stops you from wanting
something better for yourself. Learning your strengths and reframing negative talk leads to aligning with your true self.
Lack of clarity: When you can't envision who you want to be and what you want your life to be like, then life is focused on the surface level. This keeps you "in stasis" (or not changing) because it prevents you from developing a sense of purpose.
Comfortable: Your chaos is comfortable. Changing is uncomfortable. Expressions like "this is how I am" often reflect a fear of stepping outside the comfort zone.
The fact is that change is a choice. However, without understanding your unique self, your goals, your values, and your vision, it becomes what it's always been, quite difficult!
